“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.”
This season my life has held a few recurring themes that I want to share. The connections to how far I have come and understanding that this transition isn’t a end, but new beginnings as old layers fall away reach beyond this year alone. Many of the accomplishments, struggles and deep experiences were rooted in a foundation that continues to evolve with every new piece of clarity and gratitude that is revealed and reflected.
Often times we prepare for transitions with a feeling of loss or pain, which is also sometimes well merited. But isn’t it reason to question what we are denying ourselves in preparing to hibernate and rest without gratitude for the path that has brought us here? How can we truly find forward without embracing that transitions are really about filling our lives with new opportunities and perspectives?
I have lived in the Midwest my entire life and with that comes the uncertainty, but also spontaneous beauty of seasons. It’s a very Buddhist concept that without the bad or difficult times there would be no good, but through gratitude we can begin to understand that ever struggle has built a piece of our foundation stronger. I look forward to a season of reflection and soaking in the path here and opportunity to find forward. To share gratitude for every experience, individual, and moment with an open mind and heart.
As some things fall away they may feel like part of a bittersweet departure. That balance can teach us so much if we slow down and listen, to recognize it’s not a loss in a zero sum game. We are making room to grow and embrace beautiful new beginnings.
Gratitude comes from within. A shift in perspective to a vision of raw appreciation. Take it in and digest all that has built you as strong and resilient as you are. Every moment of love and joy, whether overcoming a struggle or embracing wholeheartedly a celebration of life.
