6 years ago I started a journey forward. I had been living a life that didn’t quite feel like it aligned with my heart, potential and character of the person I wanted to be. It was time to make a change and start to transition not only my lifestyle, but my mindset to begin a new chapter of my journey. I wasn’t sure what steps to take or where I would end up, the fear of this and losing friends along the way weighed heavy on my heart. The only certainty was that if I wanted to live a life of gratitude and joy it was time to make a change.
This is not a story of pursuing or attaining perfection, but instead a growing appreciation for the process and every experience along the way. If we allow ourselves to shed the fear and thoughts that question our every action, we can begin to find forward and build a foundation that cannot be shaken but in the same vein is adaptable. This story is also not over, it is in full swing and everyday brings new challenges, joys and graces. My intention is to share all of that along with some good food and music along the way. No matter the circumstances we’re presented with nor how much adversity we face, we must always dig deep and look to find forward.
Inspiration can be found in many places and people, the most genuine offering the greatest impact!
I have walked a very unique path through my life often due to my own choices good and poor both. I will continue to Find Forward and share the journey along the way- asking questions, starting conversations, being vulnerable, challenging myself and feeling gratitude for every moment. I invite you to join me and do the same!
“I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. He will put some things behind, will pass an invisible boundary; new, universal, and more liberal laws will begin to establish themselves around and within him; or the old laws be expanded, and interpreted in his favor in a more liberal sense, and he will live with the license of a higher order of beings. In proportion as he simplifies his life, the laws of the universe will appear less complex, and solitude will not be solitude, nor poverty poverty, nor weakness weakness. If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.”
– Henry David Thoreau, Walden
